Masters Degree Disertation- "Electronic Super-Panopticon"

This animation was developed as my dissertation for my terminal year of my Masters Degree studies at UNARTE Bucharest. During my terminal year I taught myself how to create and model characters, rig and animate them. This was my first 3D animation, thanks to my lack of experience and time constraints compared to a large workload it is not perfect, however I am satisfied with the final results.

The meaning behind this animation was the surveillance people expose themselves through daily on the internet. As such I set forth to create a human character reminiscent of retro games, with a hand painted low res texture, contrasted by a more "hi-tech" robotic character with a PBR texture workflow. The mask the robotic character creates was built from pictures of my face using the Facebuilder Blender plugin and then retopologised with RetopoFlow.

The characters were created in 3DS Max and Zbrush and Rigged and animated in Blender Cycles. The environments were modeled in 3DS Max.
